The main conference takes place at Harnack-Haus, the conference venue of the Max Planck Society.

The Harnack-Haus is located close to the campus of Freie Universität Berlin and can be reached easily by public transport. Detailed directions can be found here.

The welcome reception and the Rote-Alt-Fest will take place at the Computer Science building (Takustraße 9, 14195 Berlin) of Freie Universität Berlin.

Detailed directions the Computer Science building can be found here. The building is not directly at the street. It can be accessed by foot, however, from Takustraße, Arnimallee, and Altensteinstraße. Handicapped persons and transportation services use the bell in front of the barred driveways (to be opened automatically during office hours) at Takustraße 9 or Altensteinstaße 23.

The dinner takes place at Alter Krug Dahlem, right next to the subway stop "Dahlem Dorf".

As of now, the only major COVID restriction in Germany is that FFP2-masks must be worn on public transportation. Other than that, there are no restrictions for restaurants, shops, or public buildings. In particular, there are no mask, vaccination, or testing requirements for the university or the Harnack-Haus.

HOWEVER, we strongly encourage you to wear a mask inside the building whenever possible. We have planned with a lot of opportunities to go outside, during the coffee breaks, lunches, the welcome reception, and the dinner. We hope that the weather plays along.

There is a testing site right in front of the Harnack-Haus where you can get a rapid test in case you are unsure about your health status.

Due to the high gas prices, the German federal government has decided that in June, July, and August, there will be a special ticket that costs 9 Euro per month and that is valid for travel on all municipal and regional public transport all over Germany.

We recommend that you acquire a 9 Euro ticket if you intend to take at least three trips with public transportation during the conference.
