Directions for the "Annual Workshop 2002", Hiddensee, October 2002


Hiddensee is an island in the Baltic sea, so it can only reached by boat.

Berlin to Hiddensee
There is a bus to go from Berlin to Hiddensee on October 9. The bus will leave at 12 noon in front of the

Mathematics Department of TU Berlin,
Strasse des 17. Juni 136

which is in walking distance (15 min) from the train station Zoologischer Garten (you may also take the subway to station Ernst-Reuter-Platz).

The bus will go to Schaprode, and from Schaprode to Hiddensee (Neuendorf) we take a boat. In Neuendorf, we (at least our luggage) will be picked up by the hotel.

Here you can find general informations concirning the ferries to Hiddensee, and the time table for the ferries from Schaprode to Hiddensee and Stralsund to Hiddensee. Neuendorf is the closest harbour to the hotel.
There is also the possibility to take a watertaxi, which is more flexible but also more expensive.

If you travel by train, you might go to Schaprode or Stralsund and then take the ferry to Hiddensee (Neuendorf or Vitte).

Hiddensee to Berlin  
There is no organized transfer from Hiddensee back to Berlin since everyone might have his own travel plans.
Here you can find general informations concirning the ferries to Hiddensee, and the time table for the ferries from Hiddensee to Schaprode and Hiddensee to Stralsund. Neuendorf is the closest harbour to the hotel.
There is also the possibility to take a watertaxi, which is more flexible but also more expensive.

From Schaprode or Stralsund, you can take the train back to Berlin.
