SWeMPS - A framework for a Semantic Web-enabled
Multimedia Presentation System

In my thesis I propose a framework for an Intelligent Multimedia Presentation
System which is tightly integrated to the distributed knowledge of
the Semantic Web. This knowledge integration is the basis for the
development of more flexible and intelligent information services.
An implementation of this framework will act as a proof of concept.

In the talk I motivate for an integration of Semantic Web technologies into
multimedia generation systems and outline my approach, including the ontology 
developed to represent the generation process and the rulebase which is tasked
with interpreting a knowledge base expressed in terms of the ontology. Finally,
a simple genealogy scenario is given as an example of a Web-based information service
supported by the SWeMPs framework.
