Applied Network Optimization

CONTENTS: We will study topics in network optimization that arise in telecommunication, traffic management, and project planning. The presentation will start from the applications and investigate both the mathematical background and the techniques applied in practice.

Specific topics are

During the  morning sessions  the theoretical material will be exhibited and discussed, while in the afternoon "exercise" sessions exercises and  problems will provide participants an opportunity to test and improve their problem-solving ability in order to obtain sufficient familiarity with the theory.

PREREQUISITES: Basic knowledge in graph theory, network flows and linear programming

LECTURERS:  Rolf Möhring and Martin Skutella, Technische Universität Berlin

The course may be held in English if there are foreign participants
